Genomic Variant Specialists are key members of the Genetics Team, working closely with bioinformatics scientists, genetic counselors, and laboratory personnel. The primary role of the position is to provide expert interpretation (“curation”) of the pathogenicity of genetic variants identified through next-generation sequencing. They also engage in curation-related projects and contribute to the development of internal resources. Key competencies of the position include a strong grasp of human and molecular genetics, extensive experience in interpreting peer-reviewed literature, knowledge of the clinical implications of genetic variation, and strong familiarity with both genetic variant databases and next-generation sequencing.
- PhD in human/molecular genetics or related field or MS in human/molecular genetics, genetic counseling or a related field
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

- Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about the genetic testing space
